Hey all....
I just revamped my eating lifestyle and decided to give the Paleo way a go. Wondering if anyone has tried this, either successfully or not... Looking for some advice, ideas and motivation. I've been working my way into it for about a week now and so far I find it fairly easy except for bread... I love my bread.

Then why did you pick a diet that disallows bread? Idea/advice: Stop looking for motivation and diets, and instead figure out how YOU can eat enough, but not too much, for the rest of your life.

It's actually a gluten issue..... I'm trying to find alternatives that won't make me feel like I'm dying and this seems to be the best fit for me.... But thanks for the tip.

I’ve done paleo for an extended amount of time. Me personally, it’s tough when training for marathons\ ultras and triathlons. The carb source from veggies and fruits in not enough. This being said, if workouts are light I found the paleo plan nice for months at a time. I think I found it more of cleansing than a permanent solution. There are ALOT of gluten free options out there. Again, my opinion on paleo.

It's a good starting point for trying to incorporate a variety of meat, seafood, and produce. after you get the hang of it, reintroduce foods like dairy, legumes, and gluten free grains if you tolerate them.

I get the sadness of not eating bread. Unfortunately, all the store bought gf taste like cardboard.

Wheat is such a staple in our diet, so I can understand you'll miss it greatly, and the replacement products aren't really yummy. But cutting out a lot of other things too, that you don't have to cut out, is not going to make it easier, it's going to make it harder! There are so many other things you can eat that are delicious and naturally gluten free. All you have to stay away from, is wheat, rye and barley - rye and barley aren't that much used - and depending on how sensitive you are, possibly gluten contaminated foods, and many premade foods. Base your diet on the foods you can eat, and make things from scratch. You'll have to revamp your diet, just like you said - instead of sandwiches, pancakes and pasta, eat rice and beans, salads and meat and potatoes. You'll get the hang of it if you frame it in a positive, including, way.
