I am still recoving from a c. diff infection that I contracted last October, post surgery. Does anybody have tips or experience that they want to share? I am currently taking a very good probiotic, but am still having intermittent pains daily.

Dang, I am sorry to hear about the c-diff infection. I have taken care of a few chronic c-diff patients. Have you been given i.v. flagl? Drink lots of fluids and replace electrolytes. The probiotic might help. We used brewers yeast. They have some new treatments on the market, such as fecal transplants. Best of luck and keep us notified.

I feel your pain. I had a C-Diff infection as well. It was treated with PO Flagyl for 2 weeks and I used a probiotic for months afterwards just to get back to normal. It seemed like a year before I felt like I was back to myself. Hang in there, it will get better. I don't know what kind of probiotic you were on but I was told to by ones that were kept in the fridge as they last longer and have higher counts (not sure how true it was but they worked for me).

I've seen the low-FODMAP diet recommended for C-diff recovery. It's fairly restrictive, but might be worth a discussion with your doctor if you're still having issues this far out.

I understand Aaron, I am just looking for other people's experiences. Sometimes it helps. You don't always get practical advise from a doctor. Also, misery loves company you know? Thank you all!

Thank you pinuplove, looking at the low-fodmap list of foods, this is how I normally eat except for the dairy. I have definitely seen an issue with dairy since my infection. I will try to be more strict.
