Loose weight when i eat a load of crap?

Hi all I'm currently about 5 stone overweight. I've set MFP for a 1.5lb loss which puts me at 1400 calories a day. I eat about 3000 on a Saturday then 1200 the rest of the days so overall my average calories is 1500 per day spread throughout the week. So I'm losing about 1lb a week which is fine with me so how come when i have a week off and eating LOADS more and drank loads of alcohol I will have a 3lb loss that week I'm so confused ???? Help

    Alcohol dehydrates your body. Water has weight.

    You didn't lose fat. You lost water.

    When one is attempting to lose weight what one is really trying to do is decrease the amount of fat they have to be in better balance and overall health. There are many things in your body that have weight that are not fat. Most of your body weight is water. It is very easy to do things to lose weight by causing your body to dehydrate....that does not mean what you did was healthy or advisable. If you want to lose fat then you eat at a caloric deficit....losing weight is not always the same as losing fat.
