How often will it be alright to miss a calorie goal by about 1/4 to as much as 1/3 of my goal count in a given day? I find it hard to consume as much as 3000 calories per day every day

It depends on how often that "given day" occurs. Once a month? No big deal. 3-4 times a week? You're not doing yourself any favors.6
