Marilyn Monreo 1958-size 12 2018 size 6

Queen Latifah 2001-size 18 2018 size 14
Hard to believe she was a size 8 back then. Makes me wonder how many people actually were a size 0/2.
To me, that is what a size 6-10 was in the 1980s. She has a gorgeous figure in that photo, with a bust and also developed legs. There were no 2s or 0s before the 1990s that I remember. At my thinnest, I was one of the smallest sizes in college (either 3/4 or 5/6) and it was VERY hard to find sizes in those clothes. Many stores did not make them. Most of my friends wore between 8-12 then (1980s). If they were chubby, then a 14 or 16.1 -
this is why i go by the old bmi chart...vanity sizing is a real thing...so yeah.. you're really a size 10.0

There was a store 5-7-9 geared towards the smaller sizes, i remember.
I just moved from a 16W to a regular 16. I am 5'5" 180 lbs. i don't want to know what that would have been. I stil wear plus size tops.0 -
I have a vintage size 14 (UK) wool skirt suit. I am supposedly a size 10 (UK) even though I’m still slightly overweight.
The skirt doesn’t do up. Yeah, vanity sizing is definitely a thing.0
