Cardio is it really a day of rest

Would you consider it to be an off day if you choose to jump rope or run? Or would it be better to just let your body recover completely

I would not jump rope or run on a rest day - those are both pretty tough on your body. I might walk or do yoga, though. If I had to, I’d shovel snow, because snow waits for no woman.

It depends what i was recovering from, and how strenuous the cardio was, and how i felt :+1:

I do fairly strenuous work outs 5 days a week, a mix of cardio and weights. I try to take the weekend off, but I truly enjoy my time at the gym (3 kids and I work from home, so the gym is my only alone time really). So I make one of my rest days a very light cardio day. Today I did 45 minutes on the elliptical, set to pretty easy resistance. It doesn't do much for my weight loss goals but it sure helps mentally!

A walk would be a rest day activity for me but anything more strenuous than that would not.

Depends what the 'on' days are in comparison?

Depends what you consider to be a run in this context; distance, pace, terrain?

In your other thread "Working out To Hard" it says you work out 6 days a week, although you stated you were going lighter in the gym because of injury, don't you think taking a full rest day would be better than doing an extra day of working out?

Be kind to your body and rest. Do some light activities on your day off like walking, something very low impact.
