I started yesterday with 1200 cals. I changed my activity level from sedentary to lightly active, as a result my calories are now 1350! Is there a reason for this? I even changed it back to sedentary to make sure and its stayed the higher amount.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

1200 calories is the minimum an adult female should eat period. 1350 is probably a much more realistic goal for you, unless you are an extremely petite woman. Honestly, would you rather eat 1200 calories when you can eat 1350 and still lose weight?0

Just wondering as im new to it. Dont want to be eating more than i should, but yes your right, I'd rather have 1350 than 1200.
Thanks.0 -
Well it depends on your activity level...0

MFP's activity level is based on your job or the thing you do for the majority of your day so if you have a desk job or store clerk type position then your activity would be sedentary. If you have a job where you move around quite a bit all day then you would be lightly active. If you have a job such as a construction worker then you would be active. Use that to decide your activity level. Exercise is added separately and isn't part of the activity level choice.
That said, if MFP is giving you 1200 calories as your budget you've probably chosen too aggressive of a goal. Figure our your BMR and you should be eating more than that. 1200 is the lowest MFP will go so it's usually an indicator that you need to change your goal.0
