What results are you after? Crashing and burning? Plenty of folks. To lose weight, you just have eat less, and you can do that while still eating food.12

What a terribly unhealthy idea10

Why? Eat food at a deficit.6

When NASA was trying to figure out the best food to send into space with their astronauts they tested various liquid diets because they made a lot of sense for the space program. They found liquid diets to be so incredibly demoralizing that they spent millions of dollars figuring out a better way to send food into space instead of subjecting astronauts to a liquid diet for 8 days. It's almost never worth it.
That said, I suppose Soylent would be your best bet for a liquid diet if you're hell-bent on trying it.14 -
Take all the food and non zero-calorie drink you would normally consume as part of a healthy diet. Place in food processor. Puree until smooth. Add water as needed to achieve desired thickness for drinking.9

Yes.
I have tried every fad diet out there at one time or another. Liquid diets are the worst. You get bored fast and they teach you nothing about how to eat sensibly. So as with all fad diets you put back on more than you lose when you stop them.
It took me a long time to learn this lesson, don't be like me.
Just count your calories and eat nice food. Easy and satisfying.

What kind of results are you looking for?
I would not recommend a liquid diet. Instead read this thread:

A liquid diet will likely lead to you not having the energy to enjoy spring break.9

More liquid foods when trying to gain weight works...if you are trying to achieve a huge kcal deficit, wouldn't solid foods (albeit not calorically dense) be more satisfying?2

I am currently on a liquid diet now. It’s going great you have to make sure you are taking multivitamin.20

I'm of no help...16

I tried it - lost a whole weekend!4 -
I've been on clear fluids and full fluids many times for medical reasons. It sucks. I would never voluntarily do it if my medical issues weren't acting up.6

Most liquid diets are already going to include a vitamin; cheap add-in and the appearance of being healthy. Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients.
You should be looking at the big picture - macronutrients are protein, dietary fat & carbs. Fiber is essential too......does your liquid provide good protein, fat and fiber numbers?3 -
I have found liquids do not fill me up. Thus I do the exact opposite. I try to minimize The calories I consume from liquids and eat real low calory foods that you to to make me feel full0

Liquid Diets might change your TDEE. No longer burning the daily 3-5 calories for chewing, you could be looking at massive gains.2

You'll feel miserable and lose weight fast, then put it back on faster. then you'll have to do another liquid diet.1
-
Don't do it. It works if you only want to lose weight temporarily and quickly I guess but not if you really are trying to get healthy and lose long term weight.
It will leave you very HANGRY and you learn nothing about nutrients and how to live a healthy lifestyle. Also once you stop, the weight comes back quick and doubled.0 -
I've tried them in the past when desperate for quick losses, and found they made me feel so bloated and sick I'd rather be fat....also tasted terrible. I'd rather enjoy my food and have slower losses, life is too short for that kind of misery.1

I had to be on one before surgery. Are you planning on replacing ALL your meals with a liquid replacement?
1. It’s boring
2. You can still gain weight if you aren’t counting calories
3. It’s more expensive than regular food
4. It is rarely satiating
So you may or may not lose weight, you’ll be bored, and hungrier than you need to be.
Might I suggest if you want to follow a structured plan that you prep a week’s meals ahead of time?
It will be less boring, you know it is low cal, it’s cheaper, and if you pick foods that you find satiating, more filling.4 -
I would not do a liquid diet unless medically required to do so.
Drinking my calories does not satisfy me at all and I would want to eat more.
If your calorie goal is 1300 and you eat 1300 or drink 1300 you are getting the same result. You are not going to lose more weight just because the 1300 calories are liquid. If you drastically change the way you take in your calories or do so in a way that you won't continue long term it will be difficult to sustain.
If you want to have some liquid meals I recommend not making it every meal.

You don't need a liquid diet unless a doctor has instructed you to follow one.2

I had a coworker who came in and announced his liquid diet one morning. By 1 pm he was binging on a tray of cookies from being so hungry. Just eat what you want at a calorie deficit and you will lose weight. It doesn't need to miserable.3
