Getting started (again)

I am in my 48th year trying to pick up after a total abdominal hysterectomy on 1/9/18. I lost 35 lbs from 2015-2016 and maintained that weight loss until I started having multiple medical problems for the most of 2017. I powered through workouts until 9/17, but lost motivation once pain became too much to handle. Found out in 12/17 that I had four fibroids and that my uterus was the equivalent of someone who was 24 weeks pregnant. Fast forward to present - I am ready to get back into the gym and methodically change the food choices I make. I am resigned to login every day to MFP and log every single bite. My doctor released me to return to work and exercise on 2/26/18 and my new starting weight is 212 lbs. I am focused on my next mini-goal of 199 lbs. I would love to be back where I was before I had my three children (160 lbs), but feel I need to be realistic. I am setting weight loss goals in increments of 5 lbs, reach goal, and reevaluate until I feel healthy. Maybe I'll get to 160, maybe not. Weekends will be the hardest as my boyfriend and I tend to go out, but he is jumping on my wagon to make sure we are doing this together. He is already a lean and active guy, but it is his support, motivation and encouragement are making this a lot easier then when I did it alone. Love a workout buddy! Wish me luck!

    Hi I had a TAH December 14. It took me 3 months to recover and to be released from the Dr. When I went back to workout I still only did very minimal. Take your time and slowly you will get there. Having that said I have continued to work out and most parts eat healthy. I have gained 20lbs and I am having a hard time losing and it's frustrating. I think it's a mix of my hormones and now being menopause. I was put on a low dosage of a hormone replacement right after surgery. Good luck on your journey.

    Hi! I had TVH (kept ovaries) in November and am just getting back to being me. 2017 was rough without much exercise since I was feeling pretty crappy.

    I just started back on MFP after initially using it to lose about 3 years ago. I'm finally walking, jogging, planking like a few years before surgery. Recovery to 'whole' really took me about 5 months, even though I went back to work at 3 weeks and released for all activities at 6 weeks. Being released to excercise and being fully able to exercise are two totally different things!

    I've got about 15 pounds to lose to feel good, and another 10 if I want to feel AMAZING!
