I’m 32 141lbs 5’4’. I want to lose 15 more lbs. I lost about 15 lbs on a 1200 calorie diet. I was told it was all water weight. I was also told o should instead be eating 1500 calories. Now this app is telling me 1200. Can anyone give me advice. I am on a super healthy diet no processed foods and barely any sugar, not even alcohol

How long did it take you to lose the first 15 pounds?

With how much you have to lose, set your goal to either .5 or 1 pound per week. 1200 is a bit low, and you don't have much left to lose.

If your rate of loss isn't 0.5lbs a week, set it to that and eat to whatever number MFP gives you. With 15lbs to go, anything higher than that just isn't going to be possible or sustainable, the app won't go any lower than 1200 for women.

Not knowing what your daily activity level is, I'll base my answer on sedentary. Your weekly loss should be set at no more than .5lb/week as you have so little to lose. Maintenance is approximately 1602, so to lose that 1/2 pound per week you would aim for 1352 calories daily plus any additional calories you earn through exercise

*Edited because I can't do math today.

I also have 15lbs to lose (have lost 50+), and currently on 1200kcals +exercise kcals.
1200 or 1500 depends on your activity level, your TDEE, I would calculate that.

It took me about a month at 1200 calories. I set the app at 1lb a week. It said 2 was too aggressive. I also used apple cider vinegar, was told that it was pointless but I feel like it worked. Am I wasting my time with that too?

ACV didn't help you at all.

A good portion of that 15 pounds was water weight, yes, but it's very common to lose quickly in the beginning weeks. You should be seeing about a .5-1 pound loss per week now, with it coming closer to .5 when you hit your final ten pounds.

Apple cider vinegar does nothing for weight loss. It can however be bad for your stomach, teeth and esophagus.

This is actually an often discussed mythos in here - nobody can remember it from their own experience with the setup, and newcomers seem to not get a warning, so they come in here asking for help because they're so hungry - PLEASE TELL US did you really get a warning for picking a too aggressive weightloss rate? What did it look like? Are you on the app or web version?

Yes, that is a waste of time.

And this. Processed food can be a lot of things, no foods are in themselves healthy or unhealthy or "fattening". Focus on getting in the right amount of calories, which drives weightloss, and eat a balanced diet, which makes it possible to focus on getting in the right amount of calories.

    You were told wrong.

I had MFP set to 1200 (as a short older lady...) but manually altered it to 1350 as apparently I was "doing it wrong", and found I am maintaining at that level. Back to 1200 for me next week...

Still, losing a lot fast isn't a good idea, slow but steady is the aim of the game.
