Spartan in Training - take two

So I wrote a very long post and it was all deleted because apparently adding emojis, breaks the thread.
Anyway, hello all! My name is Danielle. I live in Florida with my husband and two sons. A 6 y/o and a 9 m/o.
For years I’ve tried to get into fitness without much success. I have always wanted to be a runner but every time I’d give it a go, I’d fail.
Fast forward to January 2018. I told myself this year would be different. I told myself this would be the year I’d finally take up running. Well two weeks in, I still hadn’t started. I tried January 4th and had failed yet again.
One Sunday my church announced they’re doing a charity 5K in April and that did it. I knew I had to participate. It was time I finally did this. I downloaded C25K, and that very next day, January 15, I started the program running three days a week. For the first couple of weeks running was more of a chore, but I kept with it. I didn’t like going out to run but once I was doing it, I felt great.
About 5 weeks in, I started running daily. I’d finally found a love for running. I started looking forward to my husband coming home so he could take the kids and I could run.
Around this time, I also started incorporating intermittent fasting and boy am I reaping the benefits! I’m only two weeks in, and I’ve lost a few inches around my waist and around 8 lbs making my final goal less than 20 lbs away! (FYI, I still eat all of my calories in a day, I just eat them within an 8 hour window and fast from 7 PM to 11 AM)
Soon after starting C25K, I discovered Spartan races. They were amazing to me. So fun, and such a challenge. I knew I’d eventually have to participate in one. I found Spartan Elite, Faye Stenning to be my inspiration and kept at the running.
This past weekend, just 7 weeks after I started running, I’ve registered for my first Spartan race! December 2018, I will be participating in the Spartan Sprint here in Florida! I’m both excited and terrified.
I’m slowly starting to get into strength training and I’m getting a gym membership to really start training for the Spartan.
In just 8 weeks time, I’ve gone from couch potato, to falling in love with running, to aspiring Spartan.
In February I ran a total of 33.3 miles and in March I plan to double that and run 100k so I’ve joined the March 2018 Running Challenge.
Thank you for listening.
