3k calorie intake right for me?

I’m 29, 6ft 172lbs. Trying to add muscle. GW 185-190 with 10% body fat.

Is 3k caloric intake ok if I’m working out 5 days a week?

    Probably. I'm 5'5"ish, 136.2 lbs and eating 2700.

Who knows...try it and see what happens. That's about maintenance for me so my guess is that it could be a bit more.

I'm 5'3, 140ish, 38 year old female and maintain around 2200 calories. My last bulk ended around 2600 calories. 3000 for you is probably right.

Did you use a calculator? If you gain weight too fast or "feel fat," just cut back and reevaluate.

OP is male though...a moderately active male can easily maintain on around 3,000 calories.

Nobody can tell you that, it all depends on the calories you burn throughout the day, the only way to find out is to try it for 3 weeks and see your result...then adjust if necessary. There's more to it, but I suspect you learn about how to find your maintenance, bulk or cutting calories through youtube. I remember watching a video by Matt Ogus on this explaining how it works, even Michael Kory did one.

My guess is that this isn't enough calories for you.

That sounds ok, trial it for a few weeks and see.
