Walk 60 miles March challenge

So I'm starting this thread mainly as a way to keep myself accountable. I've been slacking on all my resolutions for this year in terms of my health and fitness so I'm picking myself up and starting over. The idea is to go for a 2 mile (or more) walk everyday with a pair of 2kg dumbbells on alternate days for that extra burn. I can't run much anymore because I've got mild Runner's knee so I'm just going to tone my workouts down and stick to walking for a while, at least till my knees are strong enough to run again cos' I sure do miss running. Please feel free to join me on this challenge, I really need all the support and motivation I can get. My starting weight is 71kg and I'm cutting my calories down to 1500 per day. My goal is to drop 2kg by the end of March ,though I'm hoping I'll drop a lil' more than that, but anyways, slow and steady is much better, right? I'll also record my body measurements and note the difference at the end of the month hopefully

    Hi AlmaEkene!

I’m in! I’m just getting back to using MFP and I’d love to share encouragements to make March a successful month. I have a puppy that I walk daily and use a GPS (which I’ve noticed I need to use more consistently) to track my mileage. Here’s my goals by week!

March 1-5: 2 miles ( actuals captured by GPS)
    March 6-12: 16 miles
    March 13-19: 16 miles
    March 20-26: 16 miles
March 27-31: 10 miles (short week)

Good luck and post a current status of how you are doing with your goals!
