there's a few things you can do to minimise this 'problem':
set an adequate deficit
tweak your macros towards more fat and protein for satiety
look at your weekly goal, not daily
move more to get more calories11 -
You can look at it that way, or you can think that
- having enough food, actually having access to an abundance of safe, delicious, nutritious food, is a blessing.
- a food scale, a food diary, and judgement to make good food choices, are your tools to overcome the "problem" of too much food.
- eating just enough will make and keep you healthy, energetic, strong and happy.
- you can pick and choose exactly what you want most, among aforementioned abundance.
- not feeling out of control, stuffed and regretful after every time you eat, is a blessing.20 -
change what you eat and eat more than you had been while still consuming fewer calories. Like trading in a 12 oz beef sirloin steak at 1068 calories and 72 grams of fat for 16oz of tilapia at 576 calories and 11 grams of fat. If you like your fats, add a tablespoon of butter to it and your 16oz of tilapia will have 676 calories and 21 grams of fat, still far fewer calories with more food. - If that doesn't work you can try going all in on something like keto, because it's not easy to eat as much while eating mostly fats, and you fill up on fewer calories that way too. Some folks do anyway, I freakin' love keto.... I also love tilapia... so I'm good either way.5

I walk for food. I eat more now than I did as a sedentary fat lady. It's really just a problem of budgeting but unlike your career choice you have more control over your energy budget and more immediately lol2

Have a smaller deficit and lose slower but more comfortably.
Reduce calories gradually.
Increase your activity level.
Eat more volume at meals by doing things like filling your plate with lower calorie foods like vegetables.
Get enough protein, fats and fiber to feel more satisfied.

Exercise to eat more.
My current daily cal limit is 1650 but I row and burn about 550 cals/day which allows me to eat 2200 at maintenance w/o feeling hungry.
