A Little Motivation

I don't post a lot in these forums, but as it's a new month, I figured I'd stop to say this.
You. Yes you. Stop what you're doing, and go look in the mirror. See the face staring back at you? That is the face of success. Whether it be weight you've lost, weight you're trying to gain, cutting, bulking, maintenance or if you even took that first step to a new better you, you're already a winner.
You're facing your demons and telling them "you can't defeat me, I'm stronger than you."
You're proving not only the doubters wrong, but to yourself, the people who love you, the people who support you "Yes I can do this."
Remember, everyone is put on to a road. We don't know where that road will take us, but it is going somewhere. When we come to forks in the road, or crossroads, that's when paths diverge and you blaze your own path. But also remember; every single road has potholes. They slow you down, they damage you, then make you feel like you can't go on. But.. pot holes are meant to be filled. They're meant to be obstacles on the path to a greater and better destination. Don't let a pothole stop you; let it give you the motivation to think outside the box, think more positive and show what you can do.
When you reach a pothole? Don't stop and give up. Reach out to friends, family, co-workers and especially the people here at MFP. They'll help you not only get out of the pot hole, but also help you back onto the road.
And make sure each day you take a few minutes to reflect. Whether that be through spirtual, mental or other means. Just stop to tell yourself. "What I'm doing takes a lot of courage. I could just sit here and let my demons consume me, but instead I'm fighting back, and I'm going to win. I have the potential to be the best I can be, even more than I ever though I could be, and I'm going to tap into that potential to succeed.
If you still need more support, then send me a message. I'll do whatever I can to help you motivate yourself into being the best you can be.
So this has been a long winded message, but in short. You all have potential. Whether you've been on this journey for a while, recently, or have just started. I'm proud of you and send you nothing but the best of wishes and support in tapping into that potential.
You're all amazing and an inspiration and I know you will all succeed in whatever goals you've set for yourself.

Absolutely! Great post. I like the literal comparisons. Could you image if we all just stopped our cars and sat idle every time we encountered a pot hole or traffic or got lost trying to follow directions?! What a mess we'd all be.
I particularly like this, too: "I could just sit here and let my demons consume me, but instead I'm fighting back, and I'm going to win. I have the potential to be the best I can be, even more than I ever though I could be, and I'm going to tap into that potential to succeed."
I faced a tough obstacle in my life last year and finally had the courage to over come it. It wasn't weight related but it was a huge milestone for me. The thing is, once you over come an obstacle the next ones to arise don't seem to be that bad and you KNOW you have the courage to fight back. Thanks for this!0
