Weights and calories

Guys I am a bit clueless to this so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. Due to a back injury I have limited myself to cardio, it is pretty straight forward calculating calorie burn associated with it and I simply enter the number in the diary. My question is is there any rule of thumb way to calculate the effect introducing weights will have on the burn. I am not planning on doing full on heavy weight training- I'm too old for that- but just a cardio circuit using weights. As I said I'm sorry if it's a stupid question, any help would be appreciated.

Probably log it as circuit training? I don't know how much different it would be.0

I don't think so... but since MFP over-estimates calorie burn a bit, you may just want to trust the calories it calculates.0
