Hi Nikki! Nice to meet you, and welcome!
As for general tips that will help during your weight loss journey I can offer some. You may or may not find them useful... but here they are:
1. Drink a lot of water. At least the 64oz (4 500ml bottles or 8 cups) we’re suggested to drink everyday. If you would like to eat less at a meal I’d suggest drinking a 500ml bottle 30 minutes before your meal. It’s been scientifically proven to reduce eating by 44% at that meal.
2. Count EVERYTHING. Some people skip counting condiments and really small snacks. Condiments have both calories and nutritions that need counted to really show you what you’re consuming.
3. Don’t be too concerned about the scale. There’s tons of other ways your body is telling you you’re doing a good job. These include weight loss (obviously) which is the most satisfying to us, but there’s also more energy, smaller body measurements, skin looking better(this one also relates a lot to water consumption), and generally feeling healthier.
4. Don’t do a cheat DAY. Have a cheat MEAL. If you’re going to have a cheat day then I’d consider only doing it once a month. Where as a cheat meal can be done once a week. Many people do cheat days once a week and the misconception behind a cheat day is if you go absolutely crazy it’s only 1 day it doesn’t matter... it does. If you eat a 3500-4000 (or worse) calorie diet for the day you can quite easily kill all the progress you made for the week. A cheat meal doesn’t have the same effect. We need to reward ourselves for good work, and a meal rather than a day is a much more practical way.
Anyway, hope those tips helped a little bit. You’re welcome to add me if you’d like and we can motivate each other0 -
