Bad cramps

Hi, I am 63, in good health but have decided to lose 50 lbs or so. I am currently about 250. About 2 weeks ago, I started walking at a moderate pace (3.2 mph) for 40 minutes 3x a week. I keep my calorie intake under 1800/day and watch my sodium/potassium/calcium intake levels. I also drink 48 oz of water per day. The problem is this: I am experiencing debilitating and severe cramping in my stomach, legs and feet on a regular basis. Are there any experienced folks out there that might have some insight into this problem?
Thank you all
