Loosing weight agoraphobia style.

Hello everyone.
I'm new here and like some of you needing to get my weight under control.
I've always been a bigger girl but somewhere along the line I went from big to just plain HUGE. I was recently told I should have an operation, nothing major but I would need to go under. The Doctors then checked my weight and BMI and to my horror I was at 300lbs!! Being this size meant no operation for me. But seeing the scale kicked my *kitten* into over drive!
I've started my weight loss journey about a moth ago, with me being on here for the past 11 days.(20lb weight loss!) It's been a major struggle as like the title suggests I'm agoraphobia, along with other mental heath issues. Trying to gain the motivation to do anything while being relegated to my own home is hard but i'm hoping to find some new people to talk to to help me through the more challenging days.
Feel free to contact me if like me you just need some words of encouragement!

Hey! Welcome. Congrats on you 20lb weight loss. I find it hard to be inside all day, maybe you could find an app for exercises for things to do indoors? Keep plugging away at it!

You don’t have to exercise if it doesn’t feel right for you. You can just eat at a deficit. However, once your weight is closer to a normal bmi you might want to in order to increase your calorie burn. You can try yoga at home, or calisthenics. There are lots of exercise DVDs out there you can follow along to at home, or even buy weights or a treadmill and make a home gym, if you can afford that. There are lots of ways to make it work for you. I wish you the best with your mental health issues. Your motivation has to come from within you. Set goals for yourself and hold yourself accountable. You can do it!

Hi and Welcome. If going out is tough for you, then I would recommend getting a treadmill, elliptical, or some other type of cardio machine that will allow you to exercise in the privacy of your own home. Maybe order a couple of dumbbells from Walmart or Amazon that you can use to start doing some strength training as well.

Just remember that weight loss happens in the kitchen, and you can lose your weight by dieting alone. Exercise can definitely help to speed the process along, though, and provides other health and aesthetic benefits as well.

I have lost 40 lbs so far, and probably have another 15-20 lbs to go. Feel free to ad me as a friend. I am on here daily.

    Best of luck to you.

Hiya well done on your successful journey your lapping those who don’t and you will be successful

I’ve spent 33 years yoyoing as life’s been unkind sadly I have ibs d so I now have to restrict food or I’m house bound so in a way I can empathise

You’ll do this then maybe you will feel stronger to tackle not being able to go out of which I know is a different battle but one that can also be beaten

Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement! I have ordered an exercise bike, (should be here today) and I started an indoor exercise routine. Who knows maybe loosing weight and feeling better will help me get passed the dreaded front door.
