CANT STOP EATING!

Hey guys! I was hoping you could shed some light on this for me. I’ve been tracking macros for about 2 weeks, lift weights 5 times a week, cardio 4 times a week, I wasn’t able to work out much last week, and stayed around 1,200 all last week and worked about 3 times to be exact. & today I did cardio for 30 min for the first time since Wednesday & I’m so hungry tonight I CANT STOP EATING! I’m at 1,800 calories & typically eat around 1,500! Could this be from the increase in activity?! And how do I contain myself SO I DONT EAT THE WHOLE KITCHEN

Give yourself a maintence day. Just treat it as a net zero, and find pleasure in nourishing your body with what it needs (and thus is craving).
If you’re actually hungry, try lean protein with fiber rich vegetables and a lot of water. Then have a small amount of whatever you’re specifically craving.2 -
>1800 calories
"Can't stop eating".
If only I could dream of considering 1800 a binge.
When I can't stop eating I'll easily surpass 5000+ and still be hungry.
Just chill and chug a bottle or two of water. That'll keep you satisfied till the food sets in and you feel full(er).7 -
You're a woman? When's your period due?1

Maybe you're not eating enough to maintain that level of activity. You don't list your stats but I'm going to guess that 1200cal is probably unnecessarily low and the hunger is a result of that. What's your height and weight, how much do you have to lose and how much are you trying to lose a week?7

Well of course! You’re eating very little and working out quite a lot. This is what your body is doing as a protection mechanism. It’s why it’s so easy to get on a restrict binge cycle! My advice is to be kind to yourself and allow yourself the extra calories today, and tomorrow change your calorie allowance to a less aggressive deficit. Take care of your body and it will take care of you!
And like another poster suggested, if you are female and it is around your time of month, those hormones hugely affect appetite. Be mindful of these things and treat yourself with respect.. take care! x2 -
I have had days like this .... sometime you just have to chill and roll with them .... if you fight them you will end up grazxing and snacking ALL day and end up eating a LOAD of calories that are unsatisfying, poor macros and when you think about it could have been better spent.
So dont go to the cupboard and nibble some cereal ... then go get a banana ... then make a microwave protien mug brownie, then go get a bit of cheese.
do it properly ... you are hungry, cook some chicken, add a tonne of veg ... or make a sandwich and fill it properly with a decent amount fo meat and salad.
eat properly and satisfy yourself2 -
This is a hard concept to grasp, but
you are hungry because you're not eating enough.
Read it a few times.
MFP gave you a calorie target to hit, for a number of reasons:
You need it for proper fuel and building blocks for your body,
to feel satisfied and not hungry,
you won't lose faster by trying to eat less.6 -
You felt like eating more because you needed more food to fuel your body. 1800 probably still had you in calorie deficit for your activity.1

Make sure you're eating back at least some of your exercise calories.0

Are you eating back some of the calories you burned from working out?0

And yes, this too. You're probably not eating enough. What is your height, weight, age?1 -
