Am I recording the calories right...?

Morning everyone,
This may be a very silly question but when in doubt ask; I often use Sainsbury's Easy Cook Long Grain Rice, the info on the packet says uncooked 100g = 117 cals; once I weigh out 100g and cook it is it still 117cals I should be logging in my diary?
I know this may seem like a dumb question but for the generous portion you get once it's cooked it's made me doubt myself!
Just like to double check these things.
Thanks

That's what I would do. 117 cals0

117 calories for 100g uncooked rice seems very low to me. I use Sainsbury’s, although it’s basmati I take. However, I’m going to look out for this as 100g as 117 cals sounds amazing!!0

looking at this and I could be wrong? I only ever measure out 100g not the serving size they suggest...any ideas?

It says 100g=117cals cooked as per instructions. So you need to be weighing after you've cooked, or else it will probably be a lot more unfortunately.0

I think (roughly) 200g of cooked rice equals 210 calories and it’s a case of estimating what 200g of cooked rice would weigh if dry. They say it expands by 1 or 1.5 the dry weight. I hate how they label things like this because it’s confusing.2

Very confusing...maybe in future I'll stick to my 100g dry weight measurement but put in 210 cals for it?0 -
Bad news, I'm afraid - the cooking instructions (as per the Sainsbury's web page: https://sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/sainsburys-easy-cook-rice-1kg ) have the serving size worth 210kcal set as 66g dry weight.
That puts your 100g uncooked amount at 318kcal, not 117.

This sounds accurate. I usually log about 350 for 90g dry weight but that’s basmati so is slightly different.0 -

Wow! Bugger lol...knew it was too good to be true
Wish they would make it much clearer on the labelling of products but thank you, hopefully my tracking will be on point now.
