Hi!! I have been working on this since January 6th! I’ve lost about 30! I say about cause it was 30 then I gained 2!! I was stunned! I don’t “cheat” and I had gone to the gym 4 days the week before! Question... can even light weight lifting cause that 2lb gain???

What did you gain 2lbs of? Do you know?0

Weight goes up and down, sometimes randomly.

Muscle weighs more than fat (and looks better + increases your metabolism).
Tape measure and take pictures if you really want to be accurate.7 -

Takes way too long to build appreciable muscle for this to be relevant. Would take 2 months of serious dedication for a woman to gain 2 pound of muscle. And there would be an offsetting fat loss.2 -

This. Have you recently had a meal higher in sodium/carbs? Is it TOM?0 -

Do some research on natural body weight fluctuations.
Also, this is what weight loss looks like...
You've been at it for a couple months...so you're probably about to the point where you're going to see a lot more fluctuations, both up and down..5 -
Is four times a week more than you usually go to the gym? Increasing the intensity or type of your workouts can lead to your muscles retaining water and a temporary bump on the scale. Sadly, it takes much more than that for women to gain muscle. As others have said already, you've got to get used to the idea that your weight will go up and down for a lot of reasons.1

It's 2 months! Thanks for the education (always appreciate it).
So it's probably water weight or a bad food decision. It's just 2 pounds, <7% weight loss. Better to keep a healthy mindset.1 -

It could be a few things...- 2lbs of water weight - entirely possible. Hormones, diet, exercise, etc etc can all impact water retention.
- 2lbs of fat mass - possible, but not likely. You'd have to eat an excess of some 7000+ calories to do so.
- 2lbs of muscle mass - possible, but not likely. You'd have to eat a meaningful surplus AND work exceptionally hard with heavy/hard stimulus over the course of 2-6 months to do so.
Occam's Razor suggests #1. So do I.3
