Saturated Fat effects on healthy 21 year old

Hi - i'm 21 - and a healthy weight and lightly active. I have always eaten a diet fairly low in saturated fat, no real reason just a result of what I liked to eat. Recently I have enjoyed cooking with cheese, pestos, cream etc... and making Pasta dishes incorporating them.
I am just a little curious about if this change in diet will have any side effects as I have always looked after myself in terms of calorie intake and avoiding processed hydrogenated foods but now I consume allot more saturated fats than I used too.

Depends on the source of the saturated fat and how your body deals with it. I agree with above poster that tracking your cholesterol is the best way to answer this question, because every body is different.2

Cholesterol is pretty dynamic in the fact you can manipulate lab values within a few days. The source of saturated fat and the macro composition can have an effect on lab values. In general, high carbs + high fat ratios tend to increase LDL and triglyceride readings, which would increase total cholesterol if that's a concern, at least in my own tracking for my patterns.
But in the name of data collection and curiosity, it doesn't hurt to get a baseline reading now and see what dietary changes you can make to change certain values up or down as soon as 3-5 days.2 -
