Losing several pounds one week and then none for a few weeks... is this normal?

I've been counting calories for the past two months. I've been finding that, despite eating pretty much the same # of calories/ types of food and exercising a similar amount from week to week, I'll drop two to three pounds every few weeks, and then no weight to half a pound at most in between. Is this normal? I'm only aiming to lose a pound a week, which I have done (if the progress is divided by the weeks since I started.)

Yep, I've lost 38lbs and most of it has been as you've described. Be patient and keep doing what you're doing.0

That sounds normal. Your weight fluctuates wildly (within a few pounds) depending on a variety of factors. You could weigh yourself first thing in the morning after you go to the restroom, drink a glass of water, etc. and weigh differently than you would if you changed one thing about your weigh-in routine. As long as you're still experiencing a net loss, you're OK.0
