So next week is Spring Break and I am taking two days off work because my kiddos are out all week and I want to take them somewhere special! Typically, when we go on vacation, I splurge... ALOT! I’m wanting to stay on track while on vacation. What tips can you give me to help me stay on track.. should I bring my own snacks and food? Should I look up restaurants in the area before hand to get an idea of what I can eat? Suggestions are appreciated! :)

I'm going on vacation next week, too! My plan is to stay away from sweets and junk food. Snacks will be popcorn, triscuits, fruit, and nuts. Meals will be mostly at restaurants. If I have a hamburger, then no fries with it, just steamed veggies or a side salad. No soda or alcohol. Just water to drink. No extra bread or rolls. I'm hoping this helps me stay on track but still enjoy myself with my family. Good luck & have fun!

-- don't hope to loose weight while on vacation. For me, simply avoiding grazing will allow me to maintain my weight for a week or less.
-- If your vacation is a lot of lounging, it will be harder. I eat just to occupy myself during lounging vacations. Discipline yourself to eat at particular times. Ya know, like breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner. But, I wouldn't limit what I ate during those times. For me ice cream is part of vacation. You may have such foods, too.
-- If you vacation by go-go-going, it'll be easier, really. You'll get more exercise & be too busy to graze. I'm not suggesting you plan your vacation as such, just know your weaknesses.

Stay active. Not only will you burn calories, but you can't really graze while chasing the kids around a playground or riding bikes.
