Underactive thyroid

Who has changed their diet for their hypothyroid, what did you do? How long did it take to start feeling a difference? What’s the best tip? What’s the hardest part for you? What’s the easiest part for you?

Do you have PCOS? I do.

I never went on any speical diets. I ended up crashing on them, and gained more weight.

Have you found any trigger foods with bloating? Normally dairy and whole grains can trigger bloating and even veggues like cauliflower and asparagus. I still eat those things, just with moderation, and moderation is key regardless of anything. :)

I've read stupid articles that if you eat certain foods with PCOS or a thyroid disorder you'll "gain weight." (unless it physically makes you gain weight, then that's an exception.) Don't believe that hooey like I did, I learned that while it does matter what you eat for optimal health, overall calories are what you watch out for. I could eat cheeseburgers all day and as long as I don't go over calories I won't gain weight or anything.

I found taking a quality probiotic helps with bloating. Birth control has also helped with my acne and period problems. Some women with PCOS cut their carbs a little, but not too much. I've found no difference with this.

There are no scientists fucally proven diets to help with hypothyroidism

Are you taking synthroid (or similar)? How is your bloodwork? As long as your levels are optimized you should have no more issues than the general population losing weight
