It could be. I was less than that at your age at the same height, but I also struggled with disordered eating.4

Do you think 118 or 115 lbs is better for 5'5?0 -
114-149 lbs is within the healthy range for your height. Only you can determine what looks and feels good to you.11

Check it out on a bmi scale. If in doubt, consult your gp.2

I'm 5'4.5" and I could never get that low, healthy to me is 150-160lbs but everyone has a different body type20

I would love to be that skinny. I think skinny is hot. But do I have the discipline to stay that skinny. NO! lol
I be happy once I reach 140ish.7 -

So here is a question for you...
are you right now at 119lbs and are wondering if 118 or 115 is better?
are you at 220lbs and are thinking whether you should target 118 or 115?
Statistically speaking there is no difference between 118 or 115 in terms of relative health risk.
If anything the lower would carry more risk than the higher, and in fact 120 or 126 might carry marginally less risk than either of them. As a general statement regarding all 19yo 5ft 5 women. Not as a statement regarding YOU in particular.
And all of these weights fall within the normal weight BMI range.
So why do you feel that there might be a difference between them? What is prompting your search/consideration?18 -
That will depend on things like the size of one’s frame, muscle mass, personal aesthetic preference, how easy it is to maintain, etc. I’m a small-framed person but I look frail at 115lbs. 120-125 is better for me, personally.3

How much do you weigh now?0

It is within the healthy weight range of the BMI scale.
I personally like the way my body looks having a higher weight but lower bodyfat percentage better. I didn’t like the way I looked at 118lbs.2 -

Right now I am 118 lbs but I feel like I would look better and skinnier at 115.8 -

If that weight isn't dangerous for your health, it's ok. But I can't answer that because I am no doctor, so I have no clue if being at that weight for you is healthy or detrimental for your health.1 -
Its within healthy range1

Between this thread and your thread in the maintenance forum asking what weight people think you are, I'm honestly a bit concerned. You're already on the small side for your height (lose 8 pounds and your BMI would put you at underweight, while you'd have to gain 32lb to be classed as overweight), and you're concerned with losing another 3 pounds. THREE POUNDS. I gain more than that when I go out for curry! 3lb is well within the normal fluctuation window.
It's not healthy to obsess over 3lb, or what weight random people on an internet forum think you are on the basis of a couple of photos.
How do you *feel* in your body? Can you do the things you want to do? Do you have energy to live your daily life? These things are more important than 3lb of fat.10 -

Speaking as a fellow 5'5" small-frame woman who overshot my 120-pound goal a little bit and weighed in that range then . . . even at so light a weight, 3 pounds is unlikely to make a significant difference in appearance.
If you want to look your best, eat to maintain your weight, get excellent nutrition, and tune up your exercise program in a way that aligns with your appearance goals. At a healthy weight, fitness and nutrition are going to make a much bigger appearance difference than +/- 3 pounds.
Fitness & nutrition don't act fast, but they're the path to best appearance at healthy weight: Best hair, nails, complexion; nice body; lively, energetic & vivacious manner; improved posture; confidence.12 -
As usual Ann talkes sense.
The most important part: (much closer to the bottom than the top of a normal/healthy) weight, fitness and nutrition are going to make a much bigger appearance difference than +/- 3 pounds.
If you want to enhance your look and confidence you will get a bigger pay off by tackling some strength building than by micromanaging 3lbs. Which is a rounding error when you take into account sodium and time of the month and myriad other weight fluctuations!
About the only time 3lbs make a big difference is if you need to punch another hole in a belt because of them.6 -
Three pounds is a basic fluctuation. For most people of your height/frame, it's not even a clothing size.
In addition to what other people said, I'm also seeing red flags here because of the "even"ness of that number. It's not 116, or 114 -- it's a nice neat 115.
I think you know that you won't feel better at 115, but you want permission to think it's OK to get there. And then you'll look for that nice neat number again, because you still won't feel OK there.6 -
I am 5' 5"
Currently 125.4lbs
Goal weight 117-120lbs
My profile photo is when I reached 122lbs, so I'd at least like to get back to that
