My name is Jeff and I have been training again for the past three months after a substantial lay off. I am 40+ and trying to do the impossible, get lean and keep building strength. I welcome any discussion or advice from anyone trying to accomplish similar goals. Here is to getting it right the second time around!

Hey Jeff. Welcome back. You should be able to accomplish those goals. Keep yourself in a slight deficit and don’t skip the cardio. Because you’ve lifted before your strength should progress quickly to where it use to be. Obviously at some point you’ll hit a wall, then you’ll need to decide what’s more important the strength gains or the lean gains and just focus on one. Hope this helps. Good luck on your journey.1

Thanks for your response. It’s great to be back in the gym again. It’s like sliding on that old comfortable pair of jeans. I know slow and steady wins the race. Have a good one. Thanks again.0
