Changing plan - has anyone else done this

Hi all, this might be more relevant to uk based members.
I have done Slimming World to lose weight in the past. This year it is going so slowly (1lb a week) which I know is healthy but the plan is so restrictive. I was also worried that portion control was lacking on the plan. Lots of foods you can eat unlimited amounts. You have to let your appitite dictate the portion ( my appetite is humongous!
I have gone over to just counting calories in MyFitnessPal. It is a lot more flexible- just hoping weight loss is at least the same!
Has anyone else done this??

I've always counted calories any time I wanted to lose a bit of weight ... right from the time I was 17 years old and finding the calorie content of food involved going to the library to do some research or reading my mother's medical text books.
MFP just makes the process easier.1
