Nutritionist Questions

Does anyone have any recommendations for either a nutritionist in the Philadelphia area or someone that does online nutritional counseling? I really want to have a nutritionist take a look at what I am eating and provide me with some feedback on improvements I can make.

I would suggest looking for a registered dietician instead of a "nutritionist." RDs have education requirements and have to pass an exam; "nutritionist" isn't a protected term and ANYONE can call themselves a nutritionist, even someone with zero training or education.

  • I'd recommend a dietician too. I saw my primary care doctor and she gave me a referral to one... So maybe if you have a PCP they could give you a referral?

I was extremely fortunate to have connected with Tony Paradis, a really wonderful Registered Dietician, when I started my weight loss and exercise plan. He has REALLY helped me sort through all the myths and stupid stuff on the internet and kept me on track and safe. He has an answer for the twists and turns in my journey and has made this all easier.

Tony does Skype counseling and has 2 wonderful trainers working with him who also counsel by internet. I guess I sound like a Tony commercial, but he really knows his stuff. You can find him here on MFP in a group called Ask The Dietitcian and online at http://foodandfitnessonline.com/ His website has lots of free videos about plateaus, protein and other helpful topics. Nice guy. Truly enjoys helping people!
