Peri Menopausal

Hi, I am in this period and have put on weight especially around my waist, because of metabolic changes,crash diets won't work, what calorie target per day shall i aim for, any advice much appreciated

Hi good morning. We would need more information such as your height and current weight as well as goal weight to offer any insights.

Have you tried sticking to (as in, for several weeks) the amount of calories MFP gave you at startup?1

I started a recent thread about this topic and the general consensus was that it wasn't the peri menopause that caused weight gain. Those who gained admitted they had been eating more and being perhaps a bit more in active than they once were. So in other words, its not the cause of any gain and the great news is that you can do something about it
Put your stats into MFP, log every single thing you eat accurately and consistently. If you are in a calorie deficit overall you will lose weight.1
