Clothing size charts

I have to ask if it’s just me who have noticed this. But do you ever pay attention to the clothing size charts when buying clothes for yourself. This is especially “handy” when buying stuff online....except it’s not accurate at all for me.
If I were to buy, and I have, clothes based of my measurements, every single time the clothes end up being huge. It just doesn’t work for me.
For instance. I
Let say I go on Amazon and look for new Dickies scrub pants and top. According to my measurements I should have bought a Large pants, XL top. But from previous experiences with online shopping, those sizes would be too big. I ended buying Medium in both and they are still plenty big. I mean, scrubs are lose fitting anyway. The Medium pants are almost too big. The Large would fall off my waist and leave a huge air bubble where a butt should be.
This has been my experience with other brands as well.
Even when I actually walk in to store and I don’t feel like trying on, I sometimes look at the clothing size chart, but they just make no sense...for me.

This is really no issue anymore. I stopped paying attention to it. I always buy the same size in my tops and bottoms and they always work. But why even have it if it is so inaccurate.

I've had the opposite problem, but I can't stand clothes being anything even resembling tight.

I hate tight fitting clothes as well. Fitted and flattering, but not tight.

That’s my experience too-that the sizes listed on the chart are generally too big for me. I chalk it up to being an apple shape, and have started buying based on my hip or chest measurement instead of my waist measurement (I also don’t usually buy things that are meant to be fitted in the waist, as that’s not a good look for my shape.)

The worst brands are the ones that are already known for vanity sizing. I wore a medium top from old navy today, and it was the right size for me (flowy, plenty of drape, and not at all clingy), but on their size chart I should wear an xl.

I really dislike trying on clothes and wish that the size charts were accurate.

    You sound just like me.
