How would you encourage someone to don’t give up?

I wouldn’t use the phrase “a true hero never gives up”. That’s a judgement that could be discouraging to someone who may already be struggling.
If I knew them well and they asked for my advice, I might gently ask them to think about their own personal “why”...why did they decide to make a change? Health, family, fitness goals?
We are all human and will stumble from time to time on our quest for weight loss/fitness. The key for me was to remember my own personal “why” to help me keep going even after I had a stumble.
That being said - in order to start and then keep going, I had to get to that place of mental readiness on my own. Other people’s uninvited comments didn’t help me get there, and if anything tended to make me feel badly about myself and less motivated.
That’s just how it worked for me. If you’re the one looking for encouragement, I wish you well and hope you find your own personal “why” that helps you keep moving forward. :-)3
