I also am pregnant. Probably should watch sodium intake, too. Focusing on appropriate calorie intake and healthy options! With my first baby, I gained almost 50 pounds and would not like to go down that road again.

I'm not pregnant but my husband and I really watch our sodium intake and I know this might be too obvious but we have found the #1 best thing is avoiding a lot of packaged stuff especially frozen dinners and canned food, and limiting meals out. It is amazing to me the difference between (for example) cooking dried black beans at home and putting them in a casserole, and the amount of sodium in canned black beans even after they are rinsed. Good luck with everything btw!

Well past my pregnancies but we’ve had to watch our salt. Read all nutrition labels.

I ended up getting better at making my own soups and stews. Salt hides the flavour of substandard foods. I became familiar with the power of various herbs, love my pepper, and began picking stronger flavoured vegetables.

My best wishes with your pregnancy.
