Plan a healthy snack you can slowly munch on during that time. Preportioned.

Vegetables with some low-cal dip or hummus work well.

If it helps, I actually save most of my calories for later in the day. I don't eat breakfast due to getting extreme nausea in the mornings if so. Coffee or diet soda is fine, but I can't even stomach a protein shake.

I go to bed feeling super satiated and happy with a nice-*kitten* dinner.

Meal time is meal time (and, just in case it comes up, meal timing doesn't matter for weight loss). Eat your dinner whenever you want and can.

I eat dinner late every night...have for as long as I can remember...didn't hinder me from losing weight. There's nothing wrong with eating late. You lose weight in a calorie deficit regardless of when you eat.

What time do you go to bed? I know I have a hard time sleeping sometimes if I've had a large meal, otherwise there is no reason eating late is "bad". Just plan for those calories and you'll be fine, the clock has no bearing on your weight loss. I always save enough calories for a treat before bed and had no issue reaching my weight loss goal.

If eating late is bad, I don't wanna be right. I get off work at 5:00 p.m. I typically eat dinner sometime between 8:30 - 9:30 because that's my preference. I've maintained a healthy weight while eating late for over 3 decades.
