Hi - Hoping that myfitnesspal will help in my efforts to lose weight and become healthier. I've lost 10.5 pounds by restricting my carb intake but for over a week I've been stuck, scales aren't moving. Five days ago I also started limiting my calories, along with the carbs, and still...no progress. I live a fairly active life, up before dawn everyday - long hours. Despite that I'm going to try to incorporate an exercise program into my already busy and hectic schedule.
That's where I am on this road - just wanted to introduce myself.

Restricting carbs won't do anything in the long run unless you're also in a calorie deficit, all you will lose initially is water weight and 5 days is not enough time to see any sort of progress from counting calories, you need to give it 4-6 weeks.

Yeah you need to allow enough time to start seeing a trend allowing for fluctuations from your monthly cycle, the important thing is to trust the process, it's all about the maths.

Another thing to bear in mind is that in the first month or two, water weight can mask your weight loss and your weight will fluctuate daily.
