Do something you enjoy.
Don't over do it.
Rest days are important.2 -
If you start small and keep pushing yourself just a little bit at a time, you will be amazing how far you can get in much less time than you’d think. Don’t worry about what other people are doing. There’s always going to be someone faster, stronger, and/or fitter than you. Compare yourself to yourself - did you run a little bit farther this week/month? Lift a little more? Get in three yoga sessions instead of two? And don’t be afraid to try new things! Give whatever you’re doing a fair shot, but if it’s just not doing it for you, or you find yourself looking for excuses to skip whatever it is, then maybe it’s not the right activity for you right now. When I started out, I set really small goals for myself, small enough that it felt silly not to just do it, and I built from there. Those small wins can be really encouraging, and even small amounts of activity makes a difference! There are hundreds of things you can do to be active, and any of them is better than being inactive. Good luck!2

Pace yourself. Build up gradually. Progess is made in small consistent steps.0
