saving entries from database

I'm not exactly a noob, but I have a feeling there's a way to make my life easier. Being that there are soooo many entries for some foods (with many discrepancies) is there a way to save the one I want for future use?

I know if I use it recently it will show up in Recents and used often it will show up in Frequent, but what about when I sit and research foods for future use? Is there a way to save them in My Foods without entering all the nutri info? Like a way to click it as a Favorite and voila, it's in my list of foods so I don't have to sort thru the list.

I created a 6th meal slot using the web version.

When I find a food I want to save, I log it to my 6th meal slot and change the quantity to 0.001 servings. That zeros out Calories and nutrients so that they do not add to the Daily total, but then the items will display in the Recent list query of my Diary when I toggle the lists to show items from All Meals.

CyberTone that's a really creative way to deal with this. Two questions...do you need to be a premium member to create a 6th meal slot?

Also, do you know how often you have to log a food before it will drop off your Recents?

All users can create and rename up to 6 meal slots using the web version. Once created or modified on the web version, the changes will propagate to the mobile apps. There are a few things that can only be done using the full web version, the changes to meal slots is one of them.

The Recent list query of the Food Diary will display up to 100 items per meal slot (or per All Meals) on the web version. If they drop off, navigate to older days in your Food Diary using View Full Report (Printable), choose a date range to view, use the browser Find (Ctrl-F) function to find the item, then copy that day's meal slot to Today.

The Recent list query of the Food Diary on the mobile app is limited by the amount of memory assigned by MFP to storage on your mobile device. MFP downloads a subset of your web Diary to the mobile device; the amount varies by device. In general, the number of Diary items pulled from the mobile device subset is more than the maximum of four pages (100 items total) displayed on the web version.
