So, I just joined Aspen Fitness... they have a cycling class. I've never done it before, but it seems interesting.... anyone have any recommendations, tips, or things to look for. From what information i can find, its one class for all levels. Thanks!

Hey - don't be afraid to go in as a newbie. Introduce yourself to the instructor and ask for help setting up your bike. If the instructor's not there yet, ask someone who looks like they are familiar with the room. If it turns out they are new, too, then that's ok as well. If you are trying to get set up on your own, make sure the seat is about as high as your hip. When you sit on the seat you want just a bit of bend in your knee at the bottom of the pedal stroke. You definitely don't want to be reaching your toes down to get to the bottom. As for bar height and distance from seat to bars, for your first class, do what seems comfortable. And have fun. The great thing about cycling classes is that you can make it as hard as you need it to be THAT DAY. It's endlessly variable so you can pushpushpush when you are having a great day, or back off a bit and just get through if you are struggling.
