I coach football team and I'm 37 14stone 4lbs. I lost 3lbs but after coaching and I got home late last night and had only half my dinner as felt rubbish woke up this morning. Had to take day of work shattered I think might have a bug. Could be caused not taking on enough calories when I'm coaching try be healthier those days as not at the gym. So yesterday I had toast sandwich packet crisps before got home at 11pm.

did you put your details into MFP and what number did it give you?

I am not sure the question being asked?

Like the above, if you input your stats in MFP it gives you your base calories and you add in exercise on top of that. You still remain in a calorie deficit eating back additional calories burned from additional activity/exercise.

Don't know your height, but if you're around average height say 5'10" and have chosen a sensible rate of loss (1-1.5lbs per week should be enough) you should be getting in at least 1550-1800 calories + at least a portion of your exercise calories. That's based on sedentary, if your work life is more active then it will be more.

If you're feeling sick, eat at maintenance (around 2300) to help you recover.

Are you male? At your weight and with coaching - I think you'll likely crash at 1600-1700.

You are supposed to eat what it says, not UNDER. Set your goal to "Lose 0.5 kilo per week" Eat that amount. On coaching and/or exercise days, add the exercise under the Exercise tab and eat that amount MORE.

    Here's the explanation from "Help"

How does MyFitnessPal calculate my initial goals?

1950 to lose weight? You should be eating the calorie goal MFP gave you to lose x pounds a week, eating below it is increasing your deficit too aggressively.

I might can see you not feeling well from not eating enough. If/when you exercise you get to eat these back as well.

Yes but you are when you're at the gym and you've still been undereating if you're only eating 1600-1700 calories and then exercising.

If you ate 1600 calories then did a 350 calorie work out that's a net intake of 1250 which is about the amount a short, sedentary woman might be eating to lose weight.

1950 is your base calorie goal before exercise, so based on how you arrive at 400 calories burn through exercise maybe start with 50%. If you trust the burn at 400 eat them all back.

1950 + 400 = 2350. You are still in a calorie deficit to lose weight.

Why so aggressive on the weight loss? How much do you weigh and now much do you have to lose?

When you enter in agressive weight loss methods side effects and muscle loss are inevitable.

You don't seem to know much about how this all works. You need to read the stickies at the top of the main message board page.

Here's a link to the "Must Read" thread. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10300319/most-helpful-posts-general-diet-and-weight-loss-help-must-reads#latest

You can combat the desk job issues with improvements in your non exercise activities and adding in regular exercise. In the end you have to maintain your weight when you reach goal, so be thinking of these things as you reach your final goals and how you will go about that.

Eta: where or how did you get the idea that up to 3 pounds rate of loss is the right way to do this? You need to rethink what you are doing and how you are going about this. The above post entered in links to stickies, maybe give these a read.

If you only want to lose a stone, a half-pound per week is a more sensible weight loss goal.

If you try to lose more than 1% of your body weight each week, you'll find it difficult to keep to such an aggressive program.
