Hi everyone,
I'm new to MFP and wanted to check out the community. I'm 32 living in Ontario, Canada. For the last 2 years, I've been on Weight Watchers and I've lost around 80lbs. Problem right now is that it's expensive, and I'm trying to save up for a move and don't think I can justify the fee right now. I'm also not a huge fan of their new Freestyle program.
So, I'm going to try calorie counting and see if I can get myself to lose the last 20lbs or so, to get to my goal of 175lbs. I'm a (recreational) roller derby player and in order to up my skill set I need to start working out more regularly. I've been kind of plateaued and lazy for the last few months. I've actually been stuck between the same 5 or so pounds for like 8 months now.
Anyway, I don't have any friends on here so please feel free to add me and I'll add you back. Looking forward to this new (free) part of my journey!

Welcome,
I think these two links are extremely helpful and can help you get the most out of MFP:
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1
The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These two posts completely changed my MFP experience and helped me be much more successful, so I hope they do the same for you.
For more friends check out these threads which ended up gaining alot of traction.
