Welcome. There is a group specifically for people doing YAYOG on My Fitness Pal.

Just type YAYOG in the group search bar.

    Hi There!,

I like using YAYOG as I don't stick with going to the gym especially in the winter! Got some good results in the spring then stopped and need to start again.

I made the mistake of over doing it a bit by using a Bullworker and Pull Up bar sessions to force quicker results. Strained my elbow forearm/elbow tendons! Made the usual excuses to myself not to carry on!

So I have now bought myself a Fitbit Flex to encourage myself & monitor my foods and activity.

Going to start YAYOG again and just follow the App on my iPad - I put that on my desk and watch something on YouTube or DVD for entertainment whilst working out.

I love the fact that you can record your progress by saving your workout data.

I improvised my "equipment" as I work out in my garage/study.

    (1) For table pull ups I use a wooden gardening tool handle resting across a couple of collapsible plastic DIY workman's trestle legs ( easy to store away when done).
    (2) For chair dips I use a sturdy low work out bench
    (3) Interlocking exercise matts to protect the carpet

I also recommend getting the YAYOG book on eBay as it helps understand what to do and gives you alternatives to many of the exercises.

I grab a protein shake at work in the afternoon and a recovery shake after my workouts at home. This helps with building a little muscle and lessening the aches and pains the next day!

I live an work in the UK and am in my late 50's but aim to keep youthful (looking) as I don't feel my age. I'm hoping that I can get the hang of FitBit & MyFitness Pal without getting too bogged down in Data inputting (especially the food part)

I look forward to swapping notes and experiences.

    Encouraging regards to you all!
