Hi Everyone, I'm new here and not quite sure how all of this is going to work and feeling really overwhelmed. I've always been overweight and have tried so many times to lose weight.
....I don't really know what to say. Happy to make new friends here. Would love to hear your stories, advice, recipes etc
Have a great day

Welcome! Food addiction is not really a thing, but you can't really just "try" to lose weight, either.
I can understand being overwhelmed, being scared, feeling out of control, eating for comfort. But weight management is in its nature really really simple - pure maths: you lose weight when you consistently eat less than you burn. A food scale and your food diary are great tools if you use them right. But weightloss is still going to be slow, so it takes patience, commitment and accuracy and honesty. This insight and these tools can do wonders for your sense of control and remove a lot of anxiety, it even lets you eat anything, as long as it fits into your allowance.1 -
Hi K!
Nice to have you on the feed! And welcome. You've already taken the first and hardest step which is to get started. My advice? Well since you asked:
1: Eat a little less, lots of green things, and move a bit more. Everyday.
2. Log what you eat and how you move on MFP. Everyday.
3. Make some pals on MFP. get chatting and have some fun. Everyday. (send me a friend request and I will add you)
90% of fitness is just showing up everyday. Once you've done that, the rest will fall into place. Good luck!1 -
You will probably find MFP very easy. It tracks your calories so you can stay within your goal everyday. Get a digital food scale and start weighing everything you eat and drink. Move more if you can--even walking is good. Take your measurements every week and keep a journal. It really helps when you hit a stall so you can see your progress. Read the success stories on MFP and that will give you a boost when you are down. Good luck and you just need a lot of patience.0
