Sometimes I set goals based on a movie release date

Does anyone else do this?

I love all those Marvel and DC movies. Those actors and actresses work so hard to become so fit for their roles!! Often I’ll hear about the next one and if it has people I like, I’ll dream of being a little fitter by the time I’m gonna go watch it in theaters.

Right now I’m hoping to do 40 straight days of staying at my calorie goal since that’s about when Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters.

Man I hope I can do it. No cheat days, just straight adherence for 40 days in a row.

Eating in a deficit shouldn't be such a horribly difficult thing to do that you can't do it for 40 days?

I think that whatever your motivator is you should use it. It can work well that they are linked to something you look forward to. The movie (in your case) becomes a form of reward that isn't food and that to me sounds like a very good positive step.
I too have my goals often planned around life events that interest me. It then sort of feels as if you are putting a little sprint in or a light at the end of a tunnel. It can be a wedding, a trip, a birthday or anything really. Personally I feel that if set in reasonable timeframes makes it more achievable.
A motivator does not have to be a weight, it can we'll be whatever we feel we need to keep us on track.
