Starting over from scratch

Between December 2009 and January 2011, I lost 115 lbs, and 12 dress sizes. Then I got pregnant, and had a beautiful daughter, but I didn't have the energy or the discipline to get active to lose the weight again. I binged on food while she was napping. Now, I find myself almost at my original starting weight. None of my clothes fit right, I feel horrible. To make it worse, my job ended (temp) back in February, and I couldn't afford to keep my gym membership. I know, these are all horrible excuses.
So, I'm back almost to square one. My husband and I are both trying to get healthy now, for our daughter's sake. My husband is type 1 diabetic and is having some major health issues that need to be fixed immediately. In a way, that's a good help, because now I have more than one reason to cook healthier meals!
Thankfully, I have a ton of supportive friends and family, but I'm still ashamed of myself.
Sorry for the novel.

I don't think you should be ashamed of yourself. Firstly, it can't be easy to put this story out there. Secondly, losing 115 lbs is a huge achievement, and if you're strong/determined enough to do it once, there's no reason you can't do it again. Finally, you haven't given up. You're still in the fight, and for that you should be proud of yourself. If maintaining weight loss was easy, then the majority of people wouldn't fail to keep it off, which they apparently do. Good for you for getting back on track.0

Thank you.
It's not easy, no. But I've learned that I can't sit on how I feel, if I let it out, I feel much better about it. There's such a wonderful support network here, and I know that I'm definitely not alone.
And no, there isn't any reason that it won't happen again. It may take longer, but that's okay too!
Again, thank you for your kind words!0 -
In a similar situation, I had my baby 7 months ago and i'm now using him as my motivation to try to eat healthier and get in better shape. You're really lucky to have all that love in your life so use it to help keep yourself motivated. Maintaining weight loss is difficult enough but when you're pregnant you can eat alot so the baby grows well which tends to lead to bad eating habits and eating more junk food. Well in my case it did, I just ate anything I fancied, which worked, because he is healthy and handsome...ha ha! Well done for deciding to make the change. Look at one day at a time, try not to look at the time scale it will take etc, it's disheartening to do that. Keep busy so you don't boredom graze. Good Luck xxx0
