Protein shakes?

I’m currently trying to cut and I’m struggling with trying to meet my required protein intake, how much protein whey powder do you recommend using per shake? And how many shakes should I have per day?

    I weigh 168 lbs my lbs is probably around 130 lbs, I’m 5 ft 11 and I’m cutting so I’m currently having 2000 calories per day and aiming for 150 grams of protein, (which should be enough, right?) I’m able to get around 90 grams of protein easily enough with food

    I use Muscle Pharm and ON, but PE science, Trutein and Myprotein tend to be bit picks for protein powders. You can mix with milk and it will help add another 35 to 50g of protein..i suggest fairlife milk.

    You're meeting your minimum requirement, but you could possibly benefit from a higher intake. I like the principle of meeting halfway. How do you feel about 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass?

    1g/lb of lean body mass should be fine during a cut. However, if you're continuing to strength train (as you should) and want to maintain what you've built, I'd go with more if you can. 150g should be find I'd think. Back to your original question, I'd use a protein shake, and do myself every day. I use protein isolates for a couple reasons, first they have little or no lactose (because I'm intolerant), and second, because there's more protein in an isolate than a normal whey shake. The stuff I use is about 30g/scoop, so I use a 2 scoop shake every day for a boost of 60g of protein for around 300 calories. It helps me meet my personal goal, which is slightly higher than yours (I'm 6'2" tall and close to 200lbs). I don't limit protein beyond my minimum I've set, so there is no upper limit for me with the exception of my set calorie limit during a cut. So if I happen to hit 200g of protein a day because of that shake, and a high protein meal, I don't sweat it if my calories are at or below my daily goal.

    Yes, 150 would then be more than enough. 90 is what you do now (or have been, or would eat, without the shakes). 130 would be meeting halfway.
