Holy Kittens, I went to the beach!

Preface to say, I am NOT a beach person and wouldn't have been even if I had never been fat. It's not necessarily the swimsuit that's the problem, it's the sun/sand/saltwater/fish-gut smell/random washed up detritus/other people aspect that I dislike. I haven't actually been to a beach in about 15 years, despite living in and growing up in beach communities.

But, today, I went! For the half-hour it wasn't storming or overcast in my little pocket of SE Georgia today! One of my friends was alighting in MLPofSEGA for the weekend so I went to see her, she's a professional photographer, and I'd planned on debuting my new suit...so, weather be damned, I was going to go to the beach and wear my new suit.





Still have some pounds to go until goal, but damn, I think I look pretty good! This suit is, BTW, amazing. It looks (based on Amazon reviews) as good on a 90lb 13-year-old as a 300lb mother of four. I actually WANT to go to the beach this summer just to wear it...and also even out my Colonial Era farmer's tan. I am literally a Colonial historical reenactor...I got mad tanned wrists, yo. And very little else.

I'm not gonna lie, I felt pretty damn good about how I looked today. Still spots I want to work on, but it actually surprised me how easy it was for me to whip off my cover-up clothes for the photos. Not sure I would have felt comfortable doing that 15lbs ago, but I didn't even think about it this afternoon.
I do love this swimsuit so much, it is ridiculously flattering, kitschy retro, and, heck, modest. Even if I weighed 80lbs, I am not a bikini girl. I like coverage. It's rare that a "modest" swimsuit actually looks awesome.

I personally live to be as close to the water as possible and if I had this suit, and looked as great as you, I would be there every day (well maybe not every day considering I leave in Toronto, Canada )
