Question about calorie counting

I’m new to calorie counting and I’ve been doing great the past couple weeks , I’m down 6 pounds . My question is when counting calories should I take in account the amount of fat in a given food? I’m typically choosing healthy food but I’m generally curious about cooked corned beef since having some leftovers from st patty’s day . I’m counting the calories and weighing the corned beef but the fat is quite high so I’m wondering how much that affects my day . Thanks!

Calories matter for weight management.
Macros (fat, carbs, and protein) matter for health, body composition, workout performance, and overall preference/satisfaction.
So when asking if fat matters... yes and no. It does not matter in the context of weight loss unless higher fat intake prevents you from staying on track with your overall calorie goal.
Does that make sense?2 -
You don't need to watch any macronutrients other than making sure you get sufficient quantities of fat and protein.1

Ok great thank you ! I’ve been doing great staying on track , not quite ready to dive into the macro nutrient counting so I was getting a bit worried about some of those leftover corned beef I was eating seeing as the fat is a bit high0
