Loosing weight but maintaining/building glutes?

Hi all,
I'm just starting out all over again and looking for some advice. Basically I have some weight to loose, I'd say around 1 stone and a half or so, possibly more. I'm only 4ft 11 and weighing in at 9st 5lb. I love the idea of lifting weights and eventually want to build a booty but I understand that in doing so you need to be in a calorie surplus (I believe). So whilst I'm trying to loose weight are there any exercises that will at least keep my bum at its current size (which isn't that big anyway hence why I don't want to loose what little I have!) and just tone it up? I understand squats are a great compound lift, but being so short the idea of building my quads as well isn't ideal and if possible I'd rather just concentrate on my glutes.
Thanks all in advance

You will have some luck with "noob gains" so go for it.
You'll need a proven lifting program, probably Strong Curves, if you want to focus on your backside. @sardelsa is the resident expert on that program.2 -
That's great thank you very much0

Definitely look into Strong Curves, the program (or set of programs) is fantastic.. and while it includes lower body work it really focuses on the glutes.
As @quiksylver296 mentioned you may be able to see some slight growth being a newbie so definitely go for it.1
