I was wondering if go over my protein for the day but am under calorie, will it cause me to gain in the short or long term? TIA!

    No. I can't imagine why you might think it would. For weight loss/ gain, macro composition is not really a factor except as it impacts satiety and preference. Even in a surplus, protein is the least likely macro to be stored as fat. In a surplus the macro that gets stored as fat is....fat. Unless there is not enough of it, then carbs. But really, that scenario is unlikely and rarely happens.

    Bottom line, don't worry about the small *kitten*. Hit your calories, your protein, then your fats. In that order. And let carbs fall where they do.
